3D Viewer

3D Viewer

The viewer plays a take back on an animated 3D head, synced to the source video so you can check the performance frame by frame. You can use the built-in head or load your own.

Playback

Open a take to load it into the viewer. The source video plays alongside the head, both driven by a single clock so they stay in sync — scrub the transport bar and the head follows the video exactly. The head’s morph targets and head rotation are driven directly by the take’s per-frame data.

The built-in head

UFM ships with a built-in head rigged with the 51 ARKit-named morph targets (plus neck/head joints for head rotation). Take channels drive it one-to-one, so any take previews instantly with no setup.

Custom heads

Load your own head with Load Head… — UFM accepts GLB/glTF and FBX models with morph targets. On load, the app reads the model’s morph-target names and automatically maps the ARKit channels onto them:

  • exact name matches first
  • then known aliases
  • then a fuzzy best-match for anything left over

Open Remap… to review the mapping and override any channel by hand. Use Built-in Head to switch back at any time. Head rotation drives the rig’s neck/head joints when present, and falls back to rotating the whole head for models without joints.

Live preview while recording

While recording, the capture panel can show the 3D head live (Video / 3D Head / Both). In live mode the head eases toward each new tracked frame so it glides smoothly at the render rate. The live preview is mirrored like a selfie for natural framing — recorded take data and the DCC stream stay in true orientation.
